This journey began a few years ago when I started blending scents at home during a very long winter. These scents made me happy and brought forth feelings of comfort and coziness, which were juxtaposed against the harsh environment just outside my door. I decided to call my first blended scent Enchanted Winter and this is now my signature fragrance called Enchantment. My second scent is a citrus blend, which brightens moods and living spaces, so I called it Citrus Sunshine. But these are more than just fragrances – they are a part of a movement to improve the quality of our lives. The essential oils in these blends work to safely and effectively clean the air and a variety of surfaces without the use of harsh chemicals.
We live in a world of harsh chemicals that are put into everything, from cosmetics to insect repellent. These chemicals are known as xenohormones and they are endocrine disruptors, which can lead to cellular damage. This damage can then materialize into ailments such as cancer and infertility. The more I researched xenohormones, the more I wanted to campaign against them. I looked at my own experiences and wondered whether they had played a role in creating my uterine fibroids. It started off as a personal battle at home. Aerosol cans filled with synthetic fragrances were tossed. Harsh cleaners were tossed. Even weed-killing sprays were tossed. I was determined to remove these chemicals from my household and create my own products.
These blends are made with things that I trust – organic essential and carrier oils and distilled water. The cleaners are based on my signature essential oil blends and also contain organic castile soap or, more recently, alcohol to further eliminate dangerous viruses. It’s just one step, but it’s a big one. Take control of your life with products that are better for you and work to improve the environment. This page is a communal blog dedicated to open discussion about the products or ventures into cleaner living, so feel free to share some of your experiences below.
